More On Global Warming

If you read my post titled Evil Whale Masterminds you know my opinion on “global warming.” Well here’s a video that I think sums up the whole thing pretty well.

John Coleman is a meteorologist, founder of the Weather Channel, and a global warming skeptic. Here’s what he has to say:

Just a friendly reply…I tend to shy away from discussing politics with people I like because it can ruin things, haha, but I’m sure we’re capable of civility.

I don’t particularly claim to know all the facts about global warming, because I’m not a scientist, and that’s what it is, a science. Because of this, I don’t even bother examining the individual arguments for or against global warming. What I do know though is climate scientists as a community have consistently found global warming to be influenced by people. While there are politics in science, and those altered documents are proof of that, they don’t actually negate any of the science behind it.

As far as that gentleman goes, I would have to be a scientist and do research to do anything other than nod my head at the facts and graphs he presents; as I’m sure you’re aware, you can present true information that doesn’t necessarily explain something completely, or even honestly. I think the fact that he’s a meteorologist as opposed to a climate change scientist also hurts his credibility somewhat.

So basically my view is that I’m not capable of really getting into all the facts of global warming, I don’t have a reason to distrust the underlying science behind global warming, so I trust the science behind it.

I just don’t see what the motivation would be for climate scientists all over the world at universities and institutions to fabricate such a crisis, or, how so many experts could be so wrong. The best ideas survive in science; I trust the scientific process to disprove theories that are truly wrong, and I don’t think global warming is an exception.

Curious to know what you think of that.

Yeah I’m with you in that I don’t have enough information to know what is or isn’t true. There’s just been too much suppression of any disagreement to global warming, so it’s interesting to see those counter-arguments. All you hear in the media is that we are destroying the planet and everything is terrible, and nothing countering that claim.

I also agree that eventually the truth will come out through science, whether it supports global warming, contradicts it, or it’s somewhere in between. But until then, I just don’t buy the global warming theory.

And I don’t think it’s so far fetched that people would fabricate the whole thing. It’s just a way of influencing people, and it’s very effective.

Also, I think a lot of people like to think that we are so great as a species that we are accidentally destroying the planet. They also like to think that they are saving the planet by buying special cars or light bulbs. :P

I’ve been a climate skeptic for the longest time.
Scientists don’t want to look at the big picture and because there is so much money to be made on ‘green’ economies, then this is where things are being pushed.

  • Global Warming and Climate Change is the biggest environmental issue that we face these days. the long term effects of these environmental changes to a nations economy is quite damaging. there would be a shortage in food supply as well as on water supply too.
